Dcm "Favourite"

This card has some of my favourite things as we were asked at DCM challenge:
The mid week dare this week is another one by Mel - these are a few of my favourite things. What you need to do is use one of Mel's favourite things on your card (embroidery cotton/thread, buttons, felt or fabric) and combine it with one of your favourite things.

My favourites at the moment are:
Hearts, soft colours, rub on's, spots...
Hope you like it.

Best age

DCM's challenge this week is

I am woman

As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really.
Apart from this one.
And it is sneaky.
No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please. I love them all. But there are loads of great challenges out there using them so for this challenge you can give them a well earned rest!

Here is my card. Hope you like it.

DCM haaste tällä viikolla on "olen nainen". Kortissa pitää siis olla vähintään yksi naisen kuva.

Tässä mun kortti, toivottavasti tykkäätte.

Red and white

At daringcardmakers blog we were asked to make a card using only red and white.
Here is my card, hope you like it.

Daringcardmakers blogissa on tällä viikolla haasteena tehdä puna-valkoinen kortti.
Tällainen tuli mun kortista, toivottavasti pidätte siitä.

The Queen

This weeks challenge on Daringcardmakers blog is "Foiled":

My dare this week is 'Foiled!' -I would like you to utilise some plain old aluminium (aluminum for our friends across the pond!) foil from your kitchen :). You can scrunch it, die cut it, emboss it, ink it, coil it, cover chipboard - or anything else that you choose!

I used foil for Her crown. It was funny to play with foil; I also did some embossing, stamping and scrunching for my future projects.
Thanks for nice challenge JO!

Tällä viikolla Daringcardmakers blogissa oli haasteena käyttää kotifoliota kortissa.
Olikin hauskaa leikitellä folion kanssa; tein kokeiluja mm. leimaamalla embossaamalla rypistämällä foliota. Niitä näette ehkä tulevissa projekteissa.
Tähän korttiin foliosta tuli Hänen korkeutensa kruunu.

DCM "Frill"

This card was made to DCM challenge set by JO:

You must make a card with a frill - it could be some lace, frilly ribbon, a hand cut or decorative scissor edge or a folded paper frill - or what ever you choose to make.... you decide!

I made a card to my mom's B-day; I've bought a pair of red alligator shoes to her and wanted to have a card with same theme. Thanks for nice dare JO!

DCM card

I've been very lazy blogger, sorry for that, but there has been so many things going on in my life that I really haven't had time for this.

Anyway here is my card for DCM:

POCKETS
I’d like to see lots and lots of pockets. Pockets full of posies, Brass in Pocket (love the Pretenders).Pockets on clothes, Pockets from clothes, Library Pocket, Pockets of this and Pockets of that.
Get the idea?
Pockets and Pockets of Pockets.

I made this card for my very dear friend's request; He is having his 40th B-day party soon and the invitations will be like this. TFL!

DCM card

This week's DCM challenge by Jo:
Reminiscing... I would like you to make a card using some thing that you would normally find in an office environment. Such as... staples, paperclips, paper fasteners, file folders, library cards, hole punches, lined paper etc you get the drift.

I'm quite happy how this card turned out. What do you think?

DCM: Food

This week it's me (Kathy) setting the dare and I'd like you to make a card with a theme of FOOD!

So let's mull this one over.......
You could make an invitation to a barbecue, dinner party, picnic, kids party etc
It could feature a recipe, ingredients, utensils, cookery quotations, poems or rhymes....
It could have food depicted on it eg cupcake, CHOCOLATE, bowl of fruit , CHOCOLATE, sausages, CHOCOLATE,.....birthday cake....

Hey, it could even have real food stuck on it.....OK, maybe not....

as long as it's clearly got a foodie theme it's allowed.

How fun is that!!!!
From the very beginning, I was sure that I want to make a cupcake card, even wonderful Lynne from design team made one also.
Hope you like it.

DCM: 3 little things

This week's Little Extra is another of our popular "recipe" cards. All you need to do is include at least one of each ingredient on your card, then when you're done leave a message so we can all come and see how you've incorporated them into your design. Here are your 3 ingredients:
1 stamp
1 piece of chipboard (bought or "faux")
1 piece of metal

Recipe was quite easy for me. I used it to make an atc themed "time". This card is one of cards I made to swap with Tikkelperi. I'll add other two of them later tonight.

The day of flowers -card

This week's DCM's challenge was to make a card that celebrates and reflects a festival from another culture to your own....

I've been living in Greece and in Cyprus couple of years ago. They both have quite similar cultures and mostly same festivals also. Something very different from ours is how they celebrate first of May: They have that day called "The day of flowers". They use to decorate their front door with flowers and have a picnic eating mostly vegetables. (Those flowers were later on taken to church, where they were burned, don't actually know why.)

So I made this card to celebrate the day of flowers. I crocheted the white flower, printed out the sentiment, cut the end of the card with Fiskars shape template and their cutter, added some patterned papers, ribbons, lace, silk flower and wooden button.

I'm not an artist!

Here is my request for DCM's this weeks challenge.
I was inspired by Joan Miro's Singing fish.I used it as a sketch and followed also the colours, but used lighter tones.
So I managed to change fish to flower-vase, didn't I?

DCM card "twins"

I found this DMC challenge quite difficult, but made it! I thought I've used the same stamp as Gillian, but it's a bit different anyway.

Lottery

I have had a wonderful afternoon with this weeks DCM challenge.

Firstly make a list of 10-20 crafty items you have in your stash, whether it be brads, ribbons, peel-off's, craft robo, dies, stamps, glittter, buttons, flowers, patterned papers, paint... You get the idea! Give them all a number or print them out a sheet and pop them in a hat all folded up.

Next, ask someone non-crafty to either pick 3-5 of your numbers or pieces of paper from your from your hat.

Finally, make a card using ONLY the items chosen. A card blank, some sort of sticky stuff and your basic craft tools are allowed If you want to make it really challenging, list plenty of items that you haven't used in a while, or thought you may never use again!

So I wrote up my crafty things: Flowers, dies, patterned paper, brads, eye-lets, ribbons, dies, buttons, threads, embossing, stamps, metal stuff, inks, pens and colour papers. (I could have added also glitter-glue, but for some reason I didn't...)
Eemil was so exited when he picked up five paper pieces. He didn't have an idea whats going on...

..and here are the ones he picked up for me:

First I thought it's impossible for me to make a card without ribbon and colour papers, but then noticed I've got quite nice things to play with. (I had: inks, patterned papers, flowers, embossing and metal stuff.)

So I inked the edges of patterned papers and embossed "mom". I then added some flowers, and crocheted metal wire to be tag frames. Also added some crocheted metal wire to flowers. At the very end I embossed tiny heart to metal sheet, cut out and added to tag.

Out from comfort zone

This weeks DCM dare was quite scary, even I do love to try everything new.
My unusual and uncomfortable things in this card are:
I used glitter-glue very first time in my life. (I still don't like it, and think it was also the last time!) I'm just wondering why in a world I've ever bought them?
Second, I made large-h free hand instead of printing. This I can do again, it was actually easy.
Third, I computer embossed the white "syntymäpäivää". This was also the very first time in my life, but for sure not last; it was so easy and fun!
I have to say this card isn't my favorite (mostly because of that glitter-glue!) but I'm happy I faced my fears and learned something new.

20/20

This dare was exiting. In this card we have 20 flowers, 20 hearts, 20 stitched lines, 20 mini daisies... This was so much fun doing this and also my son got interested; I believe tomorrow you'll see one from him also!

DCM card

This one I made for DCM. I think this one can be given almost any age of man. (Perhaps kids won't be too happy to get card like this)

Cold Beauty

Here is my weather report. I'm wondering if I have the coldest one...
